Ive written hundreds of songs over the past 40 years. I love Jesus, the word of God, people and music. I play guitar, bass and sing. Thank you for listening!
My music is about the new life found in Jesus Christ. He is our access to the Father and is worthy of all praise and glory. He has taken our sins away by the selfless sacrifice of His death upon the cross. He is deserving of songs and worship. The sound of my music is influenced by the delta blues and artists that have followed through the 60s and 70s who have taken this music and written folk, Americana, and Rock n Roll. Thank you for listening to my songs, and also the collaboration projects, thank you to all who contributed to these songs..

Story behind the song
"Celebrate the Cornerstone," penned by Kay Matteson, John Matteson, and Richard Shekari, is an uplifting contemporary worship song that beautifully encapsulates themes of salvation and divine love. Drawing from biblical imagery, the lyrics highlight Jesus as the Chief Cornerstoneinitially rejected but ultimately essential to faith. The verses convey a sense of spiritual fulfilment, inviting listeners to fill their lives with the "Water of Life," a metaphor for the nourishment and peace found in Christ. The chorus bursts with joyous praise, celebrating the arrival of salvation and its accompanying freedom, encouraging a lasting celebration of God's love. The bridge emphasizes a commitment to continuous worship, reinforcing the promise of an enduring relationship with the Lord. With its engaging and repetitive structure, the song encourages communal participation, making it ideal for both congregational singing and personal reflection. Johns melodic guitar work adds depth and warmth to the composition, creating an atmosphere of reverence and joy that inspires all to embrace and share the transformative gift of salvation.
Lyrics
The Cornerstone The First And The Last The Stone that the builders rejected Has become the Chief Cornerstone The building made without hands Is built upon Him Hallelujah, salvation has come through Him; We will celebrate the Cornerstone. Praise to the Most High, salvations here and its free; We will celebrate His love till the end. Fill up your cup, fill it with Jesus. Fill up your cup with the Water of Life. Fill up your cup, fill it with Jesus; If you are thirsty, He will quench all your strife. Hallelujah, salvation has come through Him; We will celebrate the Cornerstone. Praise to the Most High, salvations here and its free; We will celebrate His love till the end. We will praise Him forever. Lets exalt Him forever and ever. Lord, we will praise You forever And exalt You forever and ever. Hallelujah, salvation has come through Him; We will celebrate the Cornerstone. Praise to the Most High, salvations here and its free; We will celebrate His love till the end.
