Oops, on my original upload of this song, the bass guitar was way too low in the mix. This is a much better version. You can now actually hear all my intricate bass parts.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Lyrics
When LOVE Was Something New David A Briggs (c)2024 guitar intro: Sometimes we run around, sometimes we just stand still. sometimes we fall down on the ground. The sky was sparkling blue, but those dark clouds rolled on in, sometimes there's nothing we can do. You've heard it all before, "Life's not an open door". I knocked tree times and walked right in. I was waiting for the day, when I became a man, what happened next, we just can't say... I left those days behind, this world it is so mean, oh yes it's mean, and so unkind. and for all the girls I've loved, when LOVE was something new, but it's all over now, over now baby blue. guitar solo: I looked up to the skies, looked up in real surprise, The 'ships', had come to to take us home. You've heard it all before, that "Life's an open door". I knocked tree times and walked right in. Now all that's in the past, nothing is made to last, our best laid plans fade like our dreams. We'll go on to the end, you are my 'Long Lost Friend', Broken hearts, can sometimes mend. guitar solo and ad-lib vocals to end. for all the girls I've loved, when LOVE was something new, for all the girls I've loved, when LOVE was something new, when LOVE was something new, but it's all over now, over now baby blue.

Hi, I realised that the bass guitar part was much too low in the mix on my first upload of this song, so I've adjusted it and uploaded a version that I'm much happier with. I hope that you all agree. This is how the bass guitar should sit and sound in the mix. After all, it deserves to be heard, as it's quite intricate in places. I've also taken the liberty of copying across all the very nice comments that 4 good people had left on my original upload. My sincere thanks to them all.

steveweyman Aug 01 Great track that tells the story of new love ! I remember those days ! You are are a great story teller and I’m convinced that if you released your 60s style Brit pop songs back then you would have had a lot of hits ! Great guitar , performance and production . A hit !

Nigel Hardy Aug 02 Really enjoyed this track. Got 60’s hit written all over it. Catchy verses and chorus. Cool guitar solo in there also. Dreamy guitars and great lyrics. Very cool!

rodrica Aug 01 This takes me back to the days when pop/rock songs were very catchy, and this definitely grabs the attention right away. Love the jangly guitar work. This kind of hit reminds me a lot of the pirate radio days when all styles of music were competing over the airwaves - great days! Excellent song.

Great songwriting on this one, David! Very pleasing to the ear and with lots of retro feel in the vocals and the guitars. I come to think of early Pink Floyd for some reason. Very intricate bass parts that make the song stand out. Great twist to use the guitar leody in the vocals in the outro. Love everything about it!
