This is Jeff Kratzman's Christian Page. I have two categories one for Secular and one for Christian songs. I've had a lifelong relationship with Christ and not to explore the spiritual side in music, would be foolish. I hope you enjoy the songs and take the time to follow-up on some of the Bible verses that inspired the songs. I welcome all feedback, but unpleasantness will just be deleted. This isn't a forum for theological debate. If you don't want to listen to Christian Music, try the Jeff Kratzman - Songs link. There's another 50 songs there.

Story behind the song
Song based on Matthew 11:28-30. Originally written 2009, but held off on recording a demo of it until 2024. The key spark happened to be a creating a patch that allowed a nylon string guitar to serve as a jazz box.
Lyrics
1. The river is dark, the waters deep Who knows how many miles, before we sleep? Love can cut and love can heal You can give or you can steal Holding onto yesteryears bitterness Instead of letting go and moving on Fighting tooth and nail to hold onto to Whats already gone or rusted away Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened I will give you rest you will find peace for your souls For my yoke is easy and my burden is light Matt 11:28-30 2. Bitterness doesnt find any cool relieve Driven by revenge and disbelief That love could ever treat you so harshly That you dont hold promise of a better day Looking for a place of quiet refuge (Psalm 119:114) Where I troubled soul can find some peace (Psalm 62:1) Feeling life haunted and hunted down When love left here, and moved to different town 3. Dark eyes know sorrow, theres little more to add Turn from that Life, not a second look I know all about love turned bad Because I took that course, and wrote that book
