Lyrics
V1:I'm just an old songwriter, reliving scenes of youth.
Trying to fill some blank space, with stories and half-truths.
I'm looking for reflections, of moments, tied in knots.
And incidents and circumstance, and hidden inner thoughts.
I write some songs to comfort, and some, just to hear the rhymes.
While some are of the moment, there's others, speak with time.
And some ring deep with loneliness, of love found and soon lost.
Others are confessions, revealing hidden costs.
CH1:I am the Lone Arranger, digging deep, within the night.
I speak not as a stranger, of darkness and of light.
A lonesome man composing, just seeking some release.
Underneath the truth exposing, trying to finish one more piece.
V2:I pick up my old six string, feel a rhythm, running deep.
And thread some notes together, shoot for something I can keep.
Then I wonder how I'm feeling, 'cause you see, I don't always know.
While staring at the ceiling, seems I sense a story grow.
And sometimes they come quickly, sometimes not at all.
A few I just assemble, seem like someone else's call.
And some they spill out roughly, others, they just end up fun.
Always something to discover, while a song has just begun.
CH2:I am the Lone Arranger, report of legends gone.
Drawing from the manger, of the common lexicon.
A lonesome old composer, warn of treachery and guile.
Ironic juxtaposer, well, this is just my style.
BRIDGE:I love those old blues numbers, reciting lines of pain.
And country music heartbreak, on the early morning train.
Recounting endless stories, false beginnings, and loose ends.
And artful ways of grieving, for lovers and for friends.
And I sure like those old folk songs, acquainting boys with gals.
Of young men marching off to war, or faithful canine pals.
And I don't mind a protest song, if it's wrapped up in a tale.
Or tunes that conjure up the sea, and the men who set their sails.
CH3:I am the Lone Arranger, disclosing certain rules.
I sometimes warn of danger, for wise men and to fools.
So I write these poems and daydreams, to capture a desire.
I'm just a Lone Arranger, don't aim for nothing higher.
CH4: I am the Lone Arranger, digging deep, within the night.
I speak not as a stranger, of darkness and of light.
A lonesome man composing, just seeking some release.
Underneath the truth exposing, trying to finish one more piece.
