Story behind the song
Russ played funky piano and bass line and I said to him, "that there is some damn funky shizznit, I gotta play a guitar solo!!!", so I played a guitar solo with skanky sounding wah!!! Then we tried to write lyrics about the end of man and the current state of the union and everything. When that didn't work we decided to try rapping as the song itself reminded us of the Transplants. If they can rap maybe can too? We cannot rap. Suffice to say, this is how it came out. FUNKY!!!
Lyrics
BEN: Holla! One time, take your mind back and rewind Its the return of the fly shit just like Vincent Price When I shout fuck Vino's you nod your heads cause its true I'm a member of the Blank Generation coming around right on cue And while I'm at I might as well be true And say fuck Juantias and Sitcky Fingerz too I don't mean to sound pissed or worse yet bitter But the band you booking at your clubs get shittier and shittier But thats just fine with me cause I just won't attend I could maybe show up, smile and pretend But I'm not gonna do that, rather stick to where I know Just don't pretend you discovered it yo VERSE TWO: Roll up in my hood, drive by's on golf carts Eighty year old men with pace makers in their hearts Buick Regals that won't even start In a town that shuts down as soom as it gets dark This is where I'm from, the HSV Where everything comes to die and be buried Or a sixteen year old girl whose raising two babies Its kind of a messed up situation to me But things don't really make sense anymore Well not like they ever really did before But as long as Tex sits in the Oval Office, Hell is in store I think its about we show him the door RUSS: I just fix her up But I know if I did she'd never wake up I got this watch but I got no time I just keep on walking this minute in my mind I see boarded windows and broken glass And a homeless man as I walk on past But I just close my eyes as I walk on past I don't wanna be a ghost and die in the past VERSE TWO: I'm gonna have to ask Russ what he's saying.
