Discarded Children
I see discarded children
In the city where I live
How do we let this happen
We all know dont you know
But our eyes are focused high
Not on the streets below
Most of them have no home
And the ones who sometimes did
Had drug addicted parents
Who never wanted kids
I see discarded children
In the city where I live
I wonder how this happens
When theres folks
With lots to give
Sleeping in the doorways
Or on sidewalks by the street
Daytimes seeking handouts
From everyone they meet
Instrumental Break
Im not pointing fingers cause
It also falls on me
For choosing not to see them
How can we let this be
Together we can change this
If we choose to try
Instead of just ignoring them
As we pass them by
Yes I see discarded children
In the city where I live
And wonder how this happens
When theres folks
With lots to give
We say its not our problem
Thats why we pay the tax
Should these children pay the price
When governments are lax
I see discarded children
In the city where I live
And wonder how this happens
Can we find a way
To open our hearts
Yes open our hearts
Open our hearts
And
Give
