The water is rushing in
I’m pushing hard to hold it all at bay
Breaking the surface, the sharks fin
I did not see all this coming today
My fight or flight is beckoning
Summoning my fears in full motion
The water fills the lack of air I’m respecting
It’s this pressure that lifts my notion
I am here
I have no wheel to steer
At the bottom of the oceans tier
Looking to the surface, the water’s clear
But I can see the light
The rays calm my freight
But I can still fight
Pushing, kicking with all my might
I’ve reached the air!
Despite all my doubts and despair
But wait, the sun is setting, it’s getting dark
How will find land and swim past the shark?
I’m so tired
To everything I once admired
I’m lowering myself back into the fire
To the bottom that is so dark, deep and dire
But you found me
Solid ground soon to be
Out of the sea
And you’ve set this new decree
My hope nearly retired
Momentum all but mired
My train of thought soon to tire
But you lead me to something higher
