Frank Lamphere is a s throwback to the pop vocalists of the 1950-60s. His bands are comprised of some of the top jazz players in the business
Frank Lamphere has been honing his swinging style during his 25 year singing career in the specialized genre nowadays referred to as traditional pop and jazz. A style which he learned or more like "absorbed" from the titans of popular music, aka male vocalists prior to 1970: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jack Jones, Buddy Greco, Tony Bennett and others. Music career highlights include four CDs released, radio and television commercials, steadies at top jazz clubs in Chicago, headlining numerous Rat Pack themed shows across the Midwest, high-profile corporate and private gigs from Las Vegas to New York, even performing in Milan, Italy. He recorded Look Out For Love which opened the 2007 film Osso Bucco. His original song I Never Forgot from his 2012 CD Frank Swings was featured prominently in the award-winning independent film Theresa Is a Mother. Prolific in the recording studio over the last several years, Frank has been utilizing the abundant jazz talent in Chicago and recorded three more albums. His fifteen song Frank Sinatra tribute Frank Songs, My Way could very well shake up the industry when it comes out in mid-2024. Available for musical performance nationwide, with his band.

Story behind the song
On an earlySeptember morning he awoke with a "vivid" melody (Las Vegas) and unlike with the previous dreams, he immediately hummed the melody and handful of lyrics into a nearby tape recorder. Deciding to take a shot at writing an entire tune,Lamphere devoted the next several hours to jotting down all of these ideas and by early afternoon, had a near completed song. This experience lefthimdumbfounded and thinking to himself "What-in-the-heck was that?" With the help of some very talented pianists-arrangers (Skip Green and Bobby Schiff) Lamphere was able to get the notes and harmonies on paper and begin performing the song shortly after.
Lyrics
Just booked a flight to Las Vegas Off to where high-rollers go to play On the boulevard, there’s a tournament today! A gambler said the air smells just like “C” notes and Frank and Dino’s work, is still applauded there The dream comes true, at last I’ve had a lifetime to prepare On Fremont Street, you see old Vegas Not to-be-missed, I hear it's quite the show Desert sky, after sundown The perfect backdrop for that famous neon glow Gonna’ take a drive around Las Vegas Take-in places, Louis Prima used to swing And Elvis Presley, right there, was crowned “the king” I've studied books about gambling And now have confidence enough to win, at all! Twenty-one, one-armed bandits. And what excitement when those dice begin their fall! Today, I'm heading to Las Vegas I just know that lady luck will come my way! Be it known loud and clear There’s no doubt, there’s no fear Las Vegas, I'm here!
