Story behind the song
This song was written in 1992 about an old friend whom after years of friendship, we are no longer. This individual was the kind of person that always questioned me no matter what I said, and they always said "Huh, I don't understand". Not that they really didn't get it, it was more like they didn't want to see my point of view, and they didn’t care to either. Basically I was made to feel stupid. This was a hard song to write back then, because I truly loved our friendship, but I’m glad I did, cause I really needed the outlet.
Lyrics
Lyrics and Music written in October 1992 (1st Verse) Every time it's the same, no matter what I do I have to play your game. No matter what I say, you always question me, why do I do it this way? "You always ask why." *(Chorus) Is it hard for you to see that I just wanna be me? It's so hard for you to see. You don't understand the things I do, you don't understand my point of view, whatever it is that I'm saying to you, you say you don't understand, no you don't. No you don't understand the things I do, you don't understand my point of view, whatever it is that I'm saying to you, you say you don't understand, no you don't. You don't understand. (2nd Verse) I've got decisions to make, now if you disagree you'll say I made a mistake. It seems that what I choose is never good enough, it's like I always lose. "I can never win." * (3rd Verse) I feel I've lost my voice, I can't speak my mind, you seem to give me no choice. It's like my thoughts don't belong, cause what I think is right to you is always wrong. "I'm never right." *
