My re-creation of a great song by The Cure. I've tried to get as near to Robert Smith's voice as I can. Nailed it I think. It's a great song to play...nice and jingly jangly...a sound that I do like.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
A rare uplifting 'happy' song by the masters of Goth / Doom...The Cure I've never been what you might call a Cure 'super fan'...but I do know a fair few of their songs. I've heard a lot of their albums ... thanks to a former bandmate, Martin for lending them and most of The Cocteau Twins albums to me, back in our 'Silent Network', glory days. I only have one of The Cure albums nowadays... Disintegration. I really must obtain their, 'Wish' album again. This song is from that album.
Lyrics
I don't care if Monday's blue Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too Thursday, I don't care about you It's Friday, I'm in love Monday you can fall apart Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart Oh, Thursday doesn't even start It's Friday, I'm in love Saturday, wait And Sunday always comes too late But Friday, never hesitate I don't care if Monday's black Tuesday, Wednesday, heart attack Thursday, never looking back It's Friday, I'm in love Monday you can hold your head Tuesday, Wednesday, stay in bed Or Thursday watch the walls instead It's Friday, I'm in love Saturday, wait And Sunday always comes too late But Friday, never hesitate Dressed up to the eyes It's a wonderful surprise To see your shoes and your spirits rise Throw out your frown And just smile at the sound Sleek as a shriek, spinning 'round and 'round Always take a big bite It's such a gorgeous sight To see you eat in the middle of the night You can never get enough Enough of this stuff It's Friday, I'm in love I don't care if Monday's blue Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too Thursday, I don't care about you It's Friday, I'm in love Monday you can fall apart Tuesday, Wednesday, break my heart Thursday doesn't even start It's Friday, I'm in love

Cor not heard this for quite awhile. Remember this on Top of the Pops. This really is an excellent cover David. You've done it proud. Thumbs up from me!

Very nice cover, David. I like it that you give it your own twist, not trying to copy the original. Still you found exactly the right guitar sound to use for this song. Great chord playing.

Yeah, I fixed mine. Sounds now as it should. Apologies to the ears of all, the first mix was bloody awful. Sounds right now. But enough about me. You. You, Mate. This is Great. You brought this song to LIFE. I imagine they'd be jealous if they only knew. And with it this good, only a matter of time 'fore they find out. "Oh bloody hell. Who's this Major Snagg? He's bettered our song Right Spanky Pete he has. Bloody Hell!" I can hear 'em now. Fantastigorical. And you even used their artwork? Oh what a fine brass pair. I love it!

Oh, and I get to be first comment as well? So, I went to the Tube of You, wait, no that didn't sound right at all did it. I went over to you know, YouTube, found the original, hadn't heard it before, actually played 'bout half of the original one by the Cure, just to reference theirs, then I was ready to hear yours. I said you'd better it. Oh by the way, I fixed me mix on that last one of mine. Or did I? Think I did. Or I stopped doing that, to hear yours. Might've. Give me ten minutes. Already this new one is featured though. Brilliant.
