Sometimes I feel
like I'm not there,
like a shadow lost in the shade.
All alone, on my own.
Confused, depressed, and afraid.
Then the sun peeks out
from those dark, black clouds,
and with it, my spirit returns.
If only a moment
before an overcast sky
brings out my latest concern.

On occasion, I feel
like I'm concealed
in a corner hidden, out of sight.
Shrouded in layers
with no visible form,
hidden in the pitch of the night.
Then a light is switched on
and the blackness is gone
and I stand up and cry out in joy.
If only a moment
before the darkness returns
and I'm faced with another concern.
