A loose cover of a recently discovered surf instrumental. I've added a slightly menacing intro (with sound effects) a middle 8 and a jazzy outro of my own invention to make it all a little longer. As usual, I've given it a full Major Snagg upgrad

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
This is a great Surf instrumental by Joe Dochtermann that I discovered recently on a Surf Music instruction video on YouTube. I've no idea when it was written or whether that's his name or a maybe made up one. I've changed it round just a little and also added my own middle 8 section (C#m / G#m / A / B). The main part of the tune is based around a simple, E / D / Am / E // C / B kind of sequence. I played the drums and percussion manually to try to get a live, slightly imperfect 'garage' kind of feel. I used my Eastwood Astro Cadet Bill Nelson model guitar.

I'll have to get myself a sand box like Brian Wilson for when I do my Surf instrumentals. By the Way, my fave Surf bands are The Langhorns and Messer Chups.

Definitely a surf song. You nailed the guitar work well. Drums are cool. The bending is spot on.

Oh I love this. Never heard the song before, but I love it. Makes me think of one not from around here. (as in, doesn't exist yet to anyone on this version of earth) ... Fab!

Catchy melody David - a surfer piece indeed! Have always loved this genre, being a coastal Californian born adds that sentimental edge... Excellent work David :)

Yeah love that dead box room drum sound David. It let's the rest cut through. Definitely got that summer surf feel stamped all over it....nailed it. A very, very nice sweet track.

Love what you've done with the drums - they have a great "live" feel to them, sounds just like a real drummer! Lovely smooth guitar playing, very nice tone, you've definitely captured that surf vibe. Nailed that pro production sound - superb quality track in every way!
