Story behind the song
This song is about the trance that corporate America would like to keep us in. The sentiment holds up even now (and the middle eastern influence in the music sems a little eerie). Jonathan Kreisberg started playing the main riff during a practice, Javier Carrion (bass) and Vince Verderame (drums), joined in. John Roggie (keyboards) and I (vocals) sat by and listened. The band worked the groove into a song and I wrote the words later when I was feeling a little angry.
Lyrics
Silencing voices Limiting Choices Feeding the masses Wake from the trance Industry standard I've had it to here with the state of the art Labled and branded Sign on the line and they'll tear you apart Misinformation Raping a nation Madness in motion Wake from the trance Industry standard I'm getting tired of the state of the art Labeled and branded Sign on the line and they'll tear you apart Industry standard I've had it to here with the top of the line Corporate seduction Bending and breaking and shaping our minds
