Orion was a band that existed primarily from 1976-1981 It consisted of 3 future members of AVALON USA, Joel Pirard, John Curtin, Jeff Kalmar, and also CJ Truitt and Roger Schnur. Previous members included Brian Legierre on drums, Jay MacMahon on vocals, Tony Lugamano who replaced Roger for a time, when he left, as did Brian) on drums, but the core became Joel, John and Jeff, until Roger returned, and CJ joined up. These songs are from original tapes made in 1980 from board mixes. In at least one or two occasions, the tapes have been slightly damaged over the years. I am trying to locate backups (they did exist) to archive these. The energy and audacity of youth was apparent. Banana Sound (still in business in NJ) was the sound and recording company. To you, all these years later, who may remember us, I hope this brings back some pleasant memories--J Pirard

Lyrics
DREAMER (ORION) Through the bright skies of morning, silver wings, sailing home Touching wonders, for centuries forgot, they come Set the Chariot in motion, charge the Compass, be true Let them see, let them tell us what they have found, beyond the sight, the sound of music! It fills our atmosphere, it is the key! Somehow, the song of the earth (song of the earth) Leads to the dawn, of historys birth (historys birth) Telling the Gods of the earth ( the Gods of the earth) That their children live on! To horizons aspiring, the galaxies, ours Now the DayStar recalls us, as we return So set the Chariot in motion, charge the Compass be true With the Pilot to guide us, into the blue skies, of summer, winter is far, Behind us now, release our hearts! Sing me, the song of the earth (the song of the earth) Lead me to historys birth (to historys birth) Sing with, the sun in your eyes, (the sun in your eyes) with the future as she flies! Dreamer, the dreams will reward you, the time cannot thwart you, Dreamer, live on (transcribed 2024)
