Story behind the song
Awhile back I ended up with Leon Russell's drum machine. I wrote 20 songs around everything left on it and there were 9 that he arranged which are denoted by the number he saved them on the machine as being included in the title, for example (Song 01). I also included alternate versions of those 9 songs as instrumentals.
Lyrics
It was so easy and there was nothing to do If there was anything we ever wanted you know we stole those too At the time it didnt matter we couldnt care less Those times were hard to hold onto an slid Through the worlds hands likesand from a half broken hour glass Then one day the end of that summer came The way it was then it left us shattered it would couldnever be the same Theres nothing anyone could to do to stop the change of the time High into the sky like dust from the trade towers The nuclear winter blues blue age hue hue into the sky they began their climb An now all our dreams in the fractured sunset was never a lie An im still getting high But were running out of time I was never untrue but there my never be a sunrise But its the spirit of all generations never dies If the train comes an takes me away That same train will bring me back someday Its the train that takes me away That same train will bring me back someday An if its a train of memories that takes me away That same train will bring me back someday
