Over 100 Soundclick No. 1s, a Musician for 60 years, a Magical Entertainer 39 years, Happy and Healthy - Retired. Been there, seen that, done that. Best Wishes!
Do I aspire to a successful Musical life? Been there, seen that, done that half a century ago when there was REAL musical employment in the UK. Any Advice? No. You need to find for yourself - BS words on internet are easy but the business is not! Originally from Heaton Norris, Stockport, myself and my wife Susan - (from a similar area of Macclesfield) worked our way up the financial ladder over our working lives by taking chances and seizing opportunities. I was a working Musician at age 14. Switched to operating a MAGIC PARTY BUSINESS for Children when aged 30 with my wife Susan which hugely altered our lives both financially and in most other respects taking us into places and social circles and opportunities we never dreamed of. We were engaged by TV Celebs, Sports Celebs, everyday well known business owners, - and even "titled" people (yes really). We lived Wilmslow for 30 years and raised our kids there and retired 2019 a few weeks before Covid. Now in Staffordshire, England with local Cheshire family and family in Madrid, Spain. Finally, - the more you post on the web the more messages you get in your e-mail trying to fraudulently find their way into your wallet or bank accounts! pianist@tutamail.com will only deliver a reply in very few exceptional cases.

Story behind the song
I recorded this in 2013 basically off "the top of my head". I am familiar with the Borodin melodies, and also the Movie "Kismet" which switches from being sometimes quite amusing, to being cheesy and badly produced. The camera work is lousy in some scenes too. There are 3 good songs in Kismet - Stranger In Paradise / Baubles Bangles and Beads / And This Is My Beloved. Ok, so Composer Alexander Borodin wrote the main theme for the Opera "Prince Igor" which premiered in 1890. It was for a scene "The Dance of the Gliding Maidens" (I think). Fast forward to 1953 and Wright/Forrest added lyrics and a rather clever new "Middle 8" to the piece as "Stranger In Paradise" for the lavish but badly flawed Musical "Kismet". The Movie tries to mix Jazz numbers with awfully "cod" versions of Alexander Borodin's melodies. Combine this with it being set in a cardboard version of Baghdad. But do watch it as there are some amusingly witty little gems in the script. I've re-worked it as WAV, and added subtle dynamics and more light and shade to the recording. The Piano? It sounds like my old Yamaha Clavinova I sold and sent off to a lovely family in Scotland a good few years ago. I also had a P95 then in 2013, but I'm 99% certain this is the Clavinova (wow, I should have kept this piano!!).
