Rock Singer - Songwriter - Guitarist - Recording Artist
When it comes down to the saying, "Rock Isn't Dead", indie rock recording artist Frank Palangi reignites the fuel on a genre that refuses to die. "Rock" is a way of life for a musician that lives and breathes his passion. It's not about drugs or the image of the lifestyle. Sure it rises and falls in and out of pop culture, but stands the test of time as one of the most favorite and well recognized. Whether it's the feeling of a raw, personal unplugged acoustic set or the full driving energy and sound of the electric guitar, his positive outlook and interaction with people has always been number one. A "millennial" for terms sake, wears many hats from recording, mixing, producing, video work, hosting interviews to teaching guitar lessons to make any sort of full time in this day in age of music living and extreme inflation. Homegrown from Upstate New York learning from a young age is you don't just give up, you stay the course on it however long it takes. His mission statement is always has been "I have no plan b in backing down on my dreams." since his early demos . Palangi's style tips the hat on the past 30 year evolution of the 80s & 90s rock & post grunge genres mixed with a taste of heavy metal. Where did Frank start? Influenced by bands from the 80's (Metallica, Ozzy, Def Leppard, Megadeth), 90's (Creed, Godsmack, 3 Doors Down, Drowing Pool), 2000's (Daughtry, Three Days Grace, Shinedown, Hinder), his natural talent for self learning from the age of 13 lead to him being a multi-instrumentalist. "I was a shy kid with health issues growing up with no sports so I turned to creative outlets instead like music and film. Learning from DVD's (early days of the net) TV interviews & live shows from the past decades I knew I wasn't going for the typical drinking, smashing hotel rooms rocker lifestyle that it is known for. I could focus more on the music, , the career, the fans, and the drive to grow & learn and of course that rock n roll rebel yell feeling to stand up for yourself." -FP Since the COVID pandemic hit making things hard for musicians and Frank's attitude and determination didn't change the idea of his mission statement. "Growing up with the early Youtube days and the rise of social platforms, it changed the field of how to get music out there and I took the online approach harder and continues to do online shows. I know things take longer than expect, it just means you have believe & have faith more not to back down so quick." The big choke in the music business is that you think you'll become an over night success fast, that's not the case. Frank with having an admirable stubbornness tenacity to keep progressing knows it's relentless work and expecting rejection. "Palangi’s positivity extends beyond his music into the way he interacts with his fans. " Guitar World. Palangi's dedication & determination, steadily grew with online show support on stageit.com / live internet broadcasts & opening in the north east with national artists such as 3 Doors Down, Red Sun Rising, Buckcherry, Candlebox, Aaron Lewis, Starset, Kip Winger, Jack Russell's Great White, Lacey Sturm, FUEL / Marcy Playground, TRAPT with Smile Empty Soul / Candlelight Red / Veer Union, Powerman 5000 with HEDPE, Stars Go Dim, Young Guns, HURT, Jess Malin (D-Generation), and indie acts Moriah Formica (The Voice), Madison Vendenburg (American Idol) IM5, Spiritual Rez, Prospect Hill, Bad Axis, Hindenberg, Sirsy, Deluka, Silversyde along with winning slots in Upstate NY with the Rocknderby Festival featuring Megedeth, Shinedown, Dokken, Like A Storm, Coheed and Cambria and The Uproar Festival featuring Alice in Chains/Jane’s Addiction. Story behind the song
The Single "Bring On The Fear" off the Self Produced Hard Heavy, Gritty Rock follow up EP titled "Bring on The Fear" from Recording Artist Frank Palangi. The homegrown indie rock singer, guitarist and musician who can do anythin and everythin he sets his mind to has the type of personality that doesn't give up; whatever it takes, whoever long it takes. Some describe Frank's music as the next evolution of 80's and 90's rock/metal combined with post grunge. Frank fuels a refreshing positive outlook serving up a feeding frenzy of edgy heavy guitars, deep n gritty vocals. After my 2017 "SET ME FREE EP" I was doing a lot of shows/opening slots and getting into more of the recording side which lead me to a year and half experience with producing, mixing and writing the 4th installment. I progressed and learned so much through that time through books, videos and interviews about mixing and with upgraded my home studio equipment. The songs I always knew would be apart of the same CD double EP had to be similar but still new and exciting vs I Am Ready CD (2013). I teamed up with few of my favorites to work with from Lester Estelle (kelly clarkson) - Brian Craddock and Brandon Maclin from Daughtry for some studio work. I had self produced a single or two before but always working with producers and mixers on my main EP"s, this really made me step up and think about the whole process a lot more. This is more gritty and heavier than the "I AM Ready" release. No reason for it, just led me in that direction with the love of heavy rock. With my wide variety of influences, I did somethin more constant which may not be always the cause for the future.
Lyrics
My focus is pulling my hand upon the wheel My body is planted locked in gear It's maybe it's too late, the night is here, the deadman to my right speaks so clear Drive all night till the morning comes the tank has run dry Said listen boy you gotta take a chance you gotta be free I'm over the edge I'm not going down so give me what I need Drive all night just to let it out the living dead is all around You yell for help now - Dead Man I will say my prayers my prayers today Nightmare man just go away Terrified by the voice inside - fright mare take it away I break apart my lonely soul There's no where to go there's no plan b I'm over the edge I'm not going down so give me what I need Drive all night just to let it out the living dead is all around You yell for help now - Dead Man Stuck here afraid to run Can you face the sun I'm over the edge I'm not going down so give me what I need Drive all night just to let it out the living dead is all around You yell for help now - Dead Man Dead man - Dead man - Dead Man
