Bouncy fast country
pop love folk country
Artist picture
Singer-songwriter, arranger and producer: acoustic contemporary folk but ranging into rock/blues/country/jazz/humour...all very eclectic, I'm afraid!
Martin Stirrup Singer/songwriter An old folkie who got back into it... These days I sing and play guitar(s) and other stringed instruments, then score and orchestrate where appropriate. My taste becomes increasingly eclectic ranging from finger-picked folk through country to soft rock mixed in with a few more alternative and eccentric numbers, including the odd novelty foxtrot...

Story behind the song
This was another bouncy pop song until Steve and I played around with his Band in a Box. Lots of sample-rejigging later it became a very fast country song!

ROR 10 Tell Me How You Feel April 2016 |D|F#|G|D|E|G|D|A7| |D|F#|G|D|E|G|D|| |Bm |A|Bm|A|G|E7|A|A7| |D|F#|G|Bb|D A|G Bb|D|| Speak up speak your mind, tell me how you feel I just can’t wait to hear Hoping you won’t be unkind, hope I’m being real Won’t give in to fear If my logic’s not fallacious then I think you will agree Please don’t be mendacious when the truth will set you free Time to commit yourself, time to do the deal Take a bow and tell me how you feel Sneak up on your thoughts, catch them by surprise When your guard is down Strategies come to naught when love is on the rise Smooth those hackles down A little perturbation in your self-sufficiency Might cause a revelation, send you spiraling to me You’ve been rammed your motor’s jammed so why not freewheel? Take a bow and tell me how you feel |Bb| C|D|| Bb| C|D|| |Bb| C|D||C||A|A7| Oh what consternation, feel those forces pull and push Oh focused concentration, no time to beat about the bush Sometime you must surrender to gain the upper hand Bring you to the fore I’m no pretender, I’m making long-term plans It’s you that I adore Strength in isolation might seem to be the norm But with a little duplication you can weather any storm Time to commit yourself, time to do the deal Take a bow and tell me how you feel
