Lyrics
Nocturne standing in the shadows very still is the abbey at the bottom of the hill in the coldness of winter time under a moonlit sky these stones were built to stand these stones were meant to last. everybody wakened with the dawn the inspired and forlorn the holy ones who gathered there would lead the morning prayer invading armies came so Godless in their fight they left us broken on a desecrated site strewn in the gardens lie the ruins of a time the evensong still permeates the stone now as I walk around the rooms that are no more taking steps along forgotten corridors where now the sky is where the ceiling was before I take a breathe and walk through time. these stones were built to stand these stones were meant to last Nocturne standing in the shadows very still is the abbey at the bottom of the hill in the coldness of winter time under a moonlit sky these stones were built to stand these stones were meant to last. everybody wakened with the dawn the inspired and forlorn the holy ones who gathered there would lead the morning prayer invading armies came so Godless in their fight they left us broken on a desecrated site strewn in the gardens lie the ruins of a time the evensong still permeates the stone now as I walk around the rooms that are no more taking steps along forgotten corridors where now the sky is where the ceiling was before I take a breathe and walk through time. these stones were built to stand these stones were meant to last
