What the heck is going on? I thought we were all equal under God in the USA. But money rules the day.

Introducing the greatest talent ever to emerge from the orange bedroom at my parents house. I play guitar like.... well, like a guy playing guitar. I tickle ivories. I twiddle on the computer. I sometimes enjoy beans on toast for breakfast. And in the cracks between the eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, working, breathing experience that is my life there sometimes slips out songs like these.

Lyrics
Dignity Every time I turn on my TV, I wonder what's going on, The rich getting rich and the poor getting poorer, You wonder where the sanities gone, Banks getting bail outs, millionaires getting tax cuts whilst they shut the local factory down, The media controlled by vote hungry politicians Who refuse to be accountable to anyone, Tired of the lies, I'm tired of the talking, I'm tired of shouting into the wind, How about a bit of sanity? Down the road at the local foodbank, The lines are growing longer each day Foreclosed homes, young families on the streets, Just trying to make it through the day, Under the bridges new communities have grown of the homeless and displaced, But people complain there a threat to the neighbourhood, No longer recognizing their neighbors face, Tired of the prejudice, I'm tired of the talking, I'm tired of shouting into the wind, How about a bit of dignity? Somebody hijacked the American Dream. Our self evident truth... a lack of equality. Pursuing life, happiness and liberty... How do we move forward with dignity? Every time I go to the supermarket, I get less for every dollar I spend, Every time I drive to the gas station, the price has changed again, Yet the politicians just keep pointing their fingers At their colleagues in the opposite aisles, Making out that they have no control Of the forces controlling our lives, Tired of the incompetence, I'm tired of the talking, I'm tired of shouting into the wind, How some about responsibility? Somebody hijacked the American Dream. Our self evident truth... a lack of equality. Pursuing life, happiness and liberty... How do we move forward with dignity? Somebody hijacked the American Dream. Our self evident truth... a lack of equality. Pursuing life, happiness and liberty... How do we move forward with dignity?
