Patriotic Song...God and Country.
contemporary southern chr
Songwriter of Contemporary Christian and Southern Gospel music.
I write and sing Christian music. I grew up in a country church in southern Oklahoma where the people loved to sing and praise God. I wrote the song, "Tiny Church House" in the early 80's as a result from the strong Christian influence I received from my parents and church as I was growing up on a dairy farm. I love to write Christian music. I sing many of my songs in Church but have never really tried to get them published/produced. I produced an album in the early 80's entitled "Except The Lord Build The House" and used the background music during revivals that I sung at. My desire is to continue writing music. I would love to have my music sung by individuals or groups that are dedicated to spreading God's love through music. I have no desire to perform! My music may be hard to classify into a single Christian genre. Much of it is Southern Gospel but some is more contemporary. In many cases, the production would determine its genre. I will place songs from my 80's album on the site and well as some of the more recent music I have written. I am not a "band". My music is produced very simply with computer software. I welcome any and all comments. I hope you enjoy the music and find Jesus in its content. Cary Fox (SongFox)

Story behind the song
Like most songwriters, I wrote a patriotic song right after 9/11.
Lyrics
I grew up on a farm in the Oklahoma hills, Times were tough, but we worked hard and God was true. We made our living from the dirt, but when Daddy was hurt The neighbors all pitched in and pulled us through. CHORUS I believe in the American Dream, And the values we hold so supreme. We will fight if we must, In God we still trust For peace in the Land of the Free. We're not just ignorant country folk, tho' country's pretty close To the way our hearts and minds and souls are bent. We place God, family, country first, through the best and through the worst, We trust in what we know is heaven-sent. CHORUS Through the days and through the years, her ground has caught the tears Of the proud but broken hearts of those still here. Men of every shape and tone, through history have shown, United we stand and God is near. CHORUS BRIDGE And I am proud to be a part of the USA! Where Old Glory waves in freedom still today. 'Til Your Kingdom takes her place, May she shelter every race, God protect, lead, and guide her I pray. CHORUS We will fight if me must, In God we still trust, For peace in the Land of the Free.
