I love songs about Heaven. This is one of several that I have written.
contemporary southern chr
Songwriter of Contemporary Christian and Southern Gospel music.
I write and sing Christian music. I grew up in a country church in southern Oklahoma where the people loved to sing and praise God. I wrote the song, "Tiny Church House" in the early 80's as a result from the strong Christian influence I received from my parents and church as I was growing up on a dairy farm. I love to write Christian music. I sing many of my songs in Church but have never really tried to get them published/produced. I produced an album in the early 80's entitled "Except The Lord Build The House" and used the background music during revivals that I sung at. My desire is to continue writing music. I would love to have my music sung by individuals or groups that are dedicated to spreading God's love through music. I have no desire to perform! My music may be hard to classify into a single Christian genre. Much of it is Southern Gospel but some is more contemporary. In many cases, the production would determine its genre. I will place songs from my 80's album on the site and well as some of the more recent music I have written. I am not a "band". My music is produced very simply with computer software. I welcome any and all comments. I hope you enjoy the music and find Jesus in its content. Cary Fox (SongFox)

Story behind the song
I find myself thinking about Heaven often.
Lyrics
CHORUS In my home on the other side of dyin', I will live in a land that time forgets. While I'm here, I'll enjoy this Pilgrim Journey, But when I'm there, it won't be missed. Well I'm a stranger in this land Where I was born, just a common man. But there's been a change that the world can't see, I've been reborn, I'm a Child of the King. CHORUS Like a bird set free from a gilded cage, I see a brand new world and a brand new age. I long to spread my new-found wings Up above the clouds where the angels sing. CHORUS Oh troubles come in a constant stream, Two after one, or so it seems. But on that future distant shore, All will be peace for evermore. CHORUS Sometimes down here, when I sing my song, I'm misunderstood, or it comes out wrong. But one day soon, I will sing His praise, Notes loud and clear, for endless days. CHORUS REPEAT CHORUS Yes, when I'm there, it won't be missed.
