Searching for Treasure (Marla Reid 2017)
Love and peace can be elusive
In this world of sin and hate
We can question why we suffer
Is Jesus even here sharing in our pain?
So many like to ask the question has God left us alone?
Letting children suffer, Little ones without a home
But He wants to us our hands, He wants to use our feet
To reach out and give His children what they need
Are we searching for treasure?
Hidden in the fields of life
Living for God's pleasure
Are we seeing others through His eyes
A child cries himself to sleep
A young woman sells her body on the street
There's so much suffering everywhere we go
Are we complacent have we given up on hope?
But may our eyes see the ones He wants us to touch
May we have the ears to hear when He's speaking to us
Give us arms opened wide to embrace those in need
Help us love practically
This is what God's kingdom is like
When we see His treasure hidden in a field
Will we lay down everything to buy it
With His love will we choose to yield?
Searching for treasure
Hidden in the fields of life
Living for God's pleasure
Seeing others through His eyes
