Song written for Christians dealing with grief from the loss of a loved one. Christians are all children of God and we will see those who have passed very soon
Story behind the song
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lords word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 with these words.
Lyrics
See Them One Day (In Jesus Arms)
Verse 1:
Lord when you bring Your children home
Words can scarcely be said
We feel lost and so alone
As griefs journey winds ahead
Strengthen us for our next breath
Help soothe this aching sting
Be our light in dark of death
Console us; help us sing
Chorus
We will see them one day,
Our Shepherd with
Each lamb He took His way.
In Jesus' arms held tenderly,
We will see them one day.
We will see them one day.
Verse 2:
Lord let Your love carry us on
As You unveil your will
Give strength to await Your dawn
Draw us closer, nearer still
The sorrow we face You have known
Rebuild our fragile trust
Were changed now, forever so
Help us move on as we must
Chorus
Bridge:
We miss those who've passed;
Those we held so near;
But in clouds the Lord will appear one day
With our loved ones so dear.
Mourning those whove passed;
Memories so clear;
In glory the Son will return one day
With those no longer here.
Verse 3:
Surround us Lord, with hope and peace
Calm our uncertain fears.
Restore minds; make pain cease.
Heal our spirits; dry our tears.
One day soon well meet in the air
Well always be with You
Well be reunited there
We will sing each day anew
Chorus
