Tiny Church House is a nostalgic Country Christian song celebrating God's love and God's loving people.
contemporary southern chr
Songwriter of Contemporary Christian and Southern Gospel music.
I write and sing Christian music. I grew up in a country church in southern Oklahoma where the people loved to sing and praise God. I wrote the song, "Tiny Church House" in the early 80's as a result from the strong Christian influence I received from my parents and church as I was growing up on a dairy farm. I love to write Christian music. I sing many of my songs in Church but have never really tried to get them published/produced. I produced an album in the early 80's entitled "Except The Lord Build The House" and used the background music during revivals that I sung at. My desire is to continue writing music. I would love to have my music sung by individuals or groups that are dedicated to spreading God's love through music. I have no desire to perform! My music may be hard to classify into a single Christian genre. Much of it is Southern Gospel but some is more contemporary. In many cases, the production would determine its genre. I will place songs from my 80's album on the site and well as some of the more recent music I have written. I am not a "band". My music is produced very simply with computer software. I welcome any and all comments. I hope you enjoy the music and find Jesus in its content. Cary Fox (SongFox)

Story behind the song
The song is about the small country church in rural, southern Oklahoma that I attended from a child to early adulthood...Central Baptist Church...south of Sulphur, OK. I was saved in this church in Bible School...I believe in 1959.
Lyrics
Lord I sometimes get discouraged, And you seem so far away. And I haven’t kept in touch with you, And I haven’t knelt to pray. But there’s a place that I can go to, It’s my Bethel, quiet and still, Ah, the place where I first met you; Tiny church house on the hill. Tiny Church House, See the steeple. Sunday morning, See the people. Hear the music, Oh, it sounds like angels from above. That’s the way that country people Show God’s love. Tiny church house on the hillside, Ah, the memories are so real. Where the family met to worship, As a child I learned to kneel. Lord renew my strength and cleanse my heart, Let me know you love me still. At the place where I first met you, Tiny church house on the hill. Tiny Church House, See the steeple. Sunday morning, See the people. Hear the music, Oh, it sounds like angels from above. That’s the way that country people Show God’s love. Oh my mind has often wandered To that place of long age. And the people there who always cared And shared their joys and woes. Oh Lord I thank you for their labor, And I thank you for their prayers. And a place a child can go to Where Jesus’ love is shared. Tiny Church House, See the steeple. Sunday morning, See the people. Hear the music, Oh, it sounds like angels from above. That’s the way that country people Show God’s love. That’s the way that country people Show God’s love.
