I Wouldnt Change For The World
If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame me
If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.
Story behind the song
I really like my life. I tell people I have the best job ever. People ask me if I would like to do something different with music and be a rapper. I tell them no, I wouldn't change for the world. It made me think about Jesus and how he changed his life for the world. If Jesus was willing to change everything for the world. What are we willing to change/sacrifice for the sake of the world. - Just a question, no answers here.
Lyrics
Wouldn’t Change for the World
I like my life, I feel content
Don’t want to change, like how it is
(See) My life is comfortable
I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I like my cereal: Frosted Flakes
I like my desert: not bake cheesecake
I like my car paid for, Carl as my neighbor
This CD is free, they say you get what you pay for
I like the thought of some kid singing this song
He rap it better than I did, kid, carry on
I got two kids in college, soaking up the knowledge
My youngest ones still home he got his hand in my wallet
I8 years pastoring the same church
They say I’m “itinerate” I had to look that word up
I like Tim, Tommy, Thaddeus, you might be mad at us
But sit back relax and watch the best thing happening
(Whoo) I like my songs with a twist
They think they understand it, till I flip the endings
I like my friends spontaneous, me I’m gregarious
My favorite Christian rapper, well come on that’s kind of obvious
I like my life, I feel content
Don’t want to change, like how it is
(See) My life is comfortable
I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I like my life, I feel content
Don’t want to change, like how it is
(See) My life is comfortable
I wouldn’t change it for the world.
But hold up! There’s another man in history
He lived his life better than our lives could ever be
He was raised in heaven, everyday a blessing
A host of angels at his call and his beacon
He and God were one
God is the father and he is the son
Plus the spirit makes the trinity
Chillin as divinity
Living so large his throne rooms the whole galaxy
But he choose to become a man
He agreed to leave heaven
I just don’t understand
He sacrificed for the world
He left paradise for the world
He gave his life for the world
For God so loved the world
Jesus changed it for the world
His life was wonderful
His life was powerful
It was majestical
Jesus Changed it for the world
His life was wonderful
His life was powerful
It was majestical
Jesus changed it for the world
