Story behind the song
This is the third in my series of Questionable Recipes Songs. It's based on a recipe in The New Joys of Jell-O

One can tuna, drained and coarsely flaked,
One small tomato, diced and drained,
Half cup cooked green beans, that would be optional,
Sliced ripe olives, green pepper strips,
Red onion strips, mild French dressing,
One package Jell-O Lemon Gelatin.
CHORUS:
Jell-O
Sing praises sing,
Picture diamonds shimmering
There’ll be oos, there’ll be ahhs,
Jellied Salad Niçoise.
That’s rich.

A teaspoon of salt then you’re gonna need water,
Boiling water and cold water, too.
Vinegar, a hard-cooked egg, dice the egg.
Coarsely chopped lettuce and a half cup mayonnaise,
Cream and, not at all optional,
Anchovy fillets, finely chopped.
CHORUS

Combine tuna, vegetables, and dressing.
Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water.
Add cold water and vinegar; chill until it thickens.
Spoon with diced egg in your six-cup ring mold;
Pour on half the gelatin, put lettuce on top.
Add remaining gelatin. Chill for four hours.
Wait…
Mix mayonnaise, cream, and anchovies. Carefully unmold salad.
Garnish it with watercress, if desired.
Serve with mayonnaise dressing. Makes six entrées
