Dora Maar is the solo project of a lonely boy named Zach Toporek. This misenthrope has somehow managed to conjure up not only a better than average home studio but also a team of talented musicians to reproduce his music live. Featureing Meghan Lounsbury on bass, Kory McKarthy on lead guitar, Zach on rythm guitar, and Joe Copperman on drums, the band plays music influenced by The Smiths, The Cure, Alkaline Trio, and The Get Up Kids. If at this point you're thinking, "Great, another typical emo band with a cocky, acne-ridden teenager at the helm," Then, in certain aspects, you may be correct.While, Zach suffers terrible acne, his music is hardly typical. With compisitons like "Sawyer Depot, Calfornia" and "Friendship", his music shows a great talent at a young age, waiting to rippen like good fruit. All in all, the music is unique and shows a great deal of potential.
