Big Sleep is the name of the imaginary 'band/group, that all the music I create with my friend and musical collaborator, Tony Webster goes under. Tony is pictured on the right in the photo; me on the left in the dark blue suit. Tony is an artist / illustrator, writer of lyrics and stories, song arranger and a mine of information on any subject under the sun . . . I (David A Briggs) play all the instruments (mostly of the stringed variety), perform all the studio 'jiggery-pokery', sing and dabble a little in the visual arts.

Story behind the song
We recorded this way back in 2004 using the Cool Edit programme. It's now been much improved and goes under the name of Adobe Audition. At this time my arsenal of musical equipment was... Guitar processing was via a Korg AX-100G. Zoom RT-123 Drum machine, Guitars used were...Yamaha SA1000, Yamaha MSG Deluxe and Yamaha APX-4A.

A wonderful melting pot of late 1960's and early 1970's influences, this could have been for the psychedelic challenge also. There is so much going on, it is really playing time in the studio and the result is brilliant!

Wonderful stuff David (and Tony) - so many complex elements melding into one, this track is just fantastic. From the great guitar intro to the back-in-the-USSR jet plane ending, the melodies, the changes, the lyrics... All brilliant. Loved it.

This is like one of those strange dreams where odd things seem to fit together and produce something very weird, yet totally believable. Brilliant job, superb lyrics and very trippy music.
