Many genres, Contemporary Christian, Lyrics, instrumentals
I write my own songs ;) I have a very diverse taste in music, from Pop to Classical, including Rock, Folk, Jazz, Country, World Music (Celtic, Romanian), Old Timey Stringband/Bluegrass, and Latin. All these styles are in my Christian Contemporary catagory. I usually write the music first, and then put words to the music. Though I don't sing good enough yet, I though I would put my instrumentals out along with my music. Generally, I think my music/lyrics are getting better, being more skilled now than when I started.

Story behind the song
Through many mini-rewrites, and a few regular ones, this is what I have - streamlined into a 11.11.11.12 metrical song.
Lyrics
Mercy (after Rag-a-Muffin) Lord grant me mercy May love come cover me Pride fed aspirations Led my vanity I am so happy For joy Your Kingdom brings Its my lasting treasure Redeems my poverty Lord, I am grateful There's grace in ev'ry crumb You are my desire Not where I've been from I bring my failures, Wounds, worries, and my loss Still here's my affection I follow with my cross Abba, I belong to You. Abba, I belong to You. Lord, I will serve You Since You had served me first I forgive all quickly Ev'ryone's knows hurt I am content for Each good and little gift With my fellow beggars I break bread and I sip Lord, You sure know me Just You have known my fame You alone had sought me With delight, no shame You're my dear Father And You look out for me Light shines from Your Kingdom It shines for all to see Abba, I belong to You. Abba, I belong to You. Lord, I will trust You My feelings will not guide, Even when it's quiet, When it seems You hide I don't need visions, A word, or mountain peaks When I am imersed in Your love, so wild and free David Davis copyright 2017
