Story behind the song
An improvisation I had recorded on my Roland F-140R keyboard sometime in 2016. This recording is actually straight from the keyboard. The nickname "Glass" primarily refers to the theme at 1:15, which I had written in some version or another earlier that year and envisioned it played on a glass armonica. Not sure why, but every time I'd hear it in my head or play it on my keyboard that's what I'd see: A dark, quiet hall with the strange but intimate sound of the glass armonica. The name is also significant because it's also what I see often when I play or listen to music that really envelops me. In fact it's something I've seen ever since I was a little kid with certain sounds and harmonies.....It's difficult to describe, but its as if everything I'll see is behind a dark frosted glass window. Shapes are there, barely, and all details are lost. Colors are there but muted, and everything is much darker than in reality. It might sound terrifying, but it's really not.....After all there is the music, and it's as clear as it can be. It is a world of just me and my music.
