Story behind the song
I started taking accordion lessons from my uncle in 1956 at 8 years old and have been playing ever since . I joined the Marine Corps out of high school in 1964 and was sent to Radar Repair school and served 6 years and 4 months on active duty . I had The Moonshine Valley Band out of Batavia, NY from 1973 until 1993 and then I was 1/2 of a duo - Blue Collar Dollar for 7 years after that . I played for 3 years after that in the New Horizons band out of Penfield , NY and am presently doing a solo act - Just Me and writing songs . I am semi retired working part time at Falcone Electric Supply Company in Batavia and have been there since 1971 .
