From the album, "The Destruction Of Something Beautiful". I feel like Aloka caught the true essence of this song when she remixed it, she brought the ghosts to life on this track.

Decaying Orbit is an experimental, unorthodox, highly diverse & genre-splitting band from Texas led by their infamous front man Mike Ash. "No, this music's not about that, it's not about sound quality, it's about passion." - Mike Ash. Decaying Orbit is produced by their label, Decaying Enterprises Productions and has released many studio albums since they formed in 2008, after the violent break up of the Psychedelic Rock band, Strangefire, of which Mike was the former front man. Decaying Orbit believes in unadulterated musical & creative freedom, Mike describes their music as a "cathartic purge" or "nervous break downs caught on tape.". The band believes that creating music is a sacred, spiritual and magical art form brought to them by the Muses, wraiths and demons hidden just beyond the veil between the worlds of the physical and spiritual realms. Decaying Orbit has traveled beyond the veil and into the realms of the spirits, only to reemerge, like a caterpillar from it's cocoon emerging as a beautiful butterfly, so does Decaying Orbit get reborn through the fire of their cacophonous tunage. The band believes in complete freedom of lifestyle, I.E. sexuality, religion, spirituality, drugs, manner of dress etc. They believe that music is an interstellar language that needs no translation to be understood by absolutely anyone. It's the passion behind the emotions found in the music that matters to Decaying Orbit, they believe that integrity is more important than fortune or fame. This is our Decaying Orbit & we do hope that you will N'Joy tha' show!!!!

Story behind the song
This tune was originally recorded live @ S&M Studios in 2007. The original studio version of the song was written & recorded in 2002 during the sessions for the Mike Ash album, "Solo + Madder", released that same year to mixed reviews. I hold this song so close to my heart that I was hesitant to even feature it on the album, let alone feature it as a single(it went to #4 in World-Wide Rock & #1 In Goth Rock) The subject matter of this song is so intensely personal that it is almost painful to even listen to. Also, it is one of my very favorite songs to play live, especially on acoustic guitar. anyways, in 2016 I sent this song to Aloka & asked if she would add some of her brilliant ambiance to it, a few days later she sent me this version of the song. I really, really Love what she did with it, she truly captured the true essence of the song. she brought it's ghosts to life, for real!!! anyhoo, We do hope that you N'Joy So Young When We Died.
Lyrics
I got shoes on my feet, watched the skid marks as I hit my knees, left a groove in the pavement as I careened, down main street, somewhere I stopped, vacant buildings and through them I walked, it was dark in a bad part of town, I threw some sparks as I slowed down... I'm broken in =ten thousand pieces, ten thousand names I could be called, but no, you just say that it's my fault, well, babe that much I know.... I've met every single ghost in this house, you popped my cherry, finally I knew what it was about, I didn't mean it, but that's not the point, you're just another boy, to pleasure me as I fall asleep, when I'm not even there, guess I'll act like I care.... who coulda' known that I'd crack like an egg, that's what I shoulda' said.... is we were so young when we died, hey we were so young.... we were so young when we died, hey, we were so young.... could you mean it when you throw me aside? I could be it if I wasn't so high, I need somewhat of a challenge babe, I need something that can take your place, 'cause I'm fluttered and I'm losing some time, guess it swallows, yeah I guess that's just fine by me.... 'cause we were so young when we died, we were so young.... I was so young when I died, hey I was so young... we were so young when we died, hey we were so young.... you were so young when you died, you were so young.... she was so young when she died, hey, she was so young.... we were so young when we died, hey, we were so young.... well, you'll never find me now....
