Sofia Sunseri, now in L.A., hails from Pittsburgh, P.A., where she grew up in a large Italian-American family of highly emotional and vocal individuals. Her parents and older siblings left her with the classic and eclectic songs and voices of Sinatra, Billy Holiday, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin, and Prince to name a few vinyl hand-me-downs. Sofia's musical road left the emotions of song to the classical and new music confines of U.C. San Diego where wood-shedding culminated in performances in L.A., San Diego, and Lincoln Center, NYC. After enough, she moved to L.A., stopped the hours of classical practice, and let her songs out. Acting, singing in new music operas, small gigs and serving coffee has paid the bills, while performances and collaborations with fellow L.A. singer-songwriters have cultivated her song and vocal signature that has, at the least, moved most to tears of joy and empathy for what she sings rings with the listener at an emotive level that goes in like air.
