The music of Lee Shapiro, which consists of a variety of styles and genres. I would appreciate if you "liked" or commented on any of the songs you enjoy.
My favorite kinds of music is the kind that surprises you. While I enjoy conventional type songs (verse, chorus, verse chorus, bridge, chorus), I prefer songs that take you on an adventure. This includes jam songs (Grateful Dead), and songs with many detours and lots of dynamics (Rickie Lee Jones, Dave Matthews). Although most of my songs tend to fall into some kind of normal verse/chorus formula, I do tend to try and mix things up a bit. Which is why most of my songs last longer than 4 or 5 minutes.

Story behind the song
This song isn't based on any single individual, but rather a combination of news articles and various postings I've read on Facebook, from both friends and strangers.
Lyrics
I had a friend, I used to know Drank too much of that Kool-Aid When it came time to git out and vote I think he went a little insane He said, Anyone but Hillary And that Trump was his man He's gonna go down in history As the world's most racist fan Yeah, Trump is a racist man, and my friend is a racist fan. I had a friend, who made it known He don't like those "colored folks" His Facebook page clearly shows That he's missing a couple of spokes Oh, my friends a racist Though he'd never think he was His hatred has no basis On compassion or on love His hatred has no basis On Compassion or on Love CHORUS: We're living in a racist country Filled with fear and intolerance Trump is just power hungry He's the devil and he wants you to dance We've got us a racist country Hiding behind the bible You can hear it every Sunday As they pray to their golden idol. They ask what would Jesus do Well I'm sure he would never stand For pointing a gun to aim and shoot At every immigrant. Oh my friends a racist I never thought he was His hatred has no basis On peace, understanding or love CHORUS We're living in a racist country Filled with fear and intolerance Trump is just power hungry He's the devil and he wants you to dance We've got us a racist country Hiding behind the bible You can hear it every Sunday As they pray to their golden idol. Yeah, Trump is their golden idol. Not a well earned title.
