Charlie Stone works for Griffin Construction of Iowa City. He is a carpenter by trade, but has been singing, playing guitar and writing songs since 1984. He is also a member of the band, “beckon” (the Kalona Christian Fellowship worship team). His style is what he calls, “Christian Folk/Rock.” He writes songs that mostly come from personal experiences. His latest CD album titled “Eagles Wings” includes 13 original songs, all written by Charlie Stone except one that was written by his wife, Jenny Stone. Charlie has performed his own music at many local events and venues. He has also opened concerts for Dark Spectacle (formerly Holy Countdown) and well known Christian recording artist, Bruce Carroll. Charlie also toured the Midwest in 1984 with music group Way of the Lamb. Charlie has released the single, “Psalm 18” to radio through an HMG Nashville Christian Rock compilation CD featuring other artists such as The Benjamin Gate, PAX 217 and Solaris. He has several songs that have received radio airplay all over the United States as well as Australia and New Zealand.
