I am a guitar player. I love the blues, and blues rock. Its real soulful. Its real southern. Muddy and Albert. Jimi and Eric. Nothing stirs my soul like the visceral howl of the electric blues. Sometimes I'm pretty over-the-top, and sometimes I just feel so heavy. But, I love it now, just as much as ever. I wanted to share it with you. Randy

Story behind the song
Martin Anderson & The Usual Suspects Martin Anderson: Singer, songwriter Angela Hurt: Female vocals Neal Bowen: Bass Andy Parrish: Drums Billy Anderson: Keyboards Randy McFarland: Guitar Recorded live at Gene Breeden Studios (Nashville). Overdubs at Tower Mastering (Nashville). Guitar Notes: Fender MIM Tele with Antiquity (b) and Fralin Blues Special (n). The second lead is done with the Firebird Strat (Antiquity Firebirds). The amp is a Bogner Metropolis, Schizo 5, with the gain set 1/2 up. The band got into a great groove! Neal and Andy were really tight, and it felt great. The leads have a Billy Gibbons/Johnny Winter kind of thing goin' on. We be hittin' the note!!! I have to add that Angela Hurt's vocals added a whole new dimension to this song. Its got great potential for a male/female duet as well. She's pretty gutsy, and real soulful.
