The Best Of D.C
Shayde (pronounced as shade) is a Washington D.C native, born and raised. He is a prolific artist and writes his own lyrics. He aspires to reach minds and to bring out the greatness in others as he defines what he see's going on in the world today. His metaphorical content underlines the facts about race, life, culture and truth in general. Shayde is not like the average artist, he delivers a humble minded in all cases good or bad. He keeps in mind that people aren't always adherent to particular truths when one may not research or do diligence in studying topics such as religion, culture and knowing who and what we are in this world so he brings it to you in an unorthodox musical format. His conscious style relates both to the streets and the geeks. He does his best to bring you the best of both worlds in order to bridge the gap of lyricism and style of today's standard of music. Now just sit back, smoke a blunt, pour up, or if you don't do any of that lay back and listen to his tracks you may be surprised at what you learn. Enjoy

Story behind the song
Reversing the anger of oppression. From being treated like a god to becoming a God. A play on the words dog and God as both words spell each other out if you reverse the spelling. A spell cast by the Greeks with their dyslexic way of reading and writing in the ancient days, referring to the Animist Guide of the Underworld, Anubis the jackal dog, and Osiris, The Supreme Being of the Underworld. Reverence yet disrespect of our lost knowledge about our real ancestors of Egipt. A Supreme Being Is A God, an existence, a being, living entity in control of what goes on around them like a Sun. I wonder where the Asians got it from? Considering African/American/ Asians/ Native American/ etc. are the oldest living beings or possesing the genetics of the original people on the planet could we be the original gods that they spoke of in many books and stories of past generations? If so will we chose to still live ignorant lives masquerading as gods still fooling the image of the beast and continue the cycle of lies or will we stand up and acknowledge who we really are and living up to it. The lyrics here are not to entice ignorance but to give you a bit of what you want becuse of the conditions of music today and th aquired lifestyles that are gained or affected by it. Dog eat Dog Or God Being Gods?
