Every guy has been there - sitting in a bar and BAM - here she comes through the door - the prettiest little southern belle he's ever seen. Maybe the ending isn't always the same...

Winston-Salem, NC based country music singer & songwriter
I am a country music singer/songwriter in Graham, NC. I'm originally from Winston-Salem, NC and, after spending time in Nashville in for awhile, I've moved back to NC. I've been playing and writing country music since I was in high school in the early 1990's. My greatest ambition is to play the Grand Ole Opry. To stand where legends like Hank Williams and Haggard played would make my life complete. I'm working hard at this career and I truly believe that deep down that God put me on this earth to sing country music. Only time will tell - I'm doing all I can do to make it happen. I hope that you enjoy this website I've put together. It will be updated often so check back from time to time. And drop me a line if you get a chance. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Brad

Story behind the song
I was watching "Pure Country" one night for about the 200th time and I watched George (Or Dusty) sitting drunk in that dance hall watching the redhead as she danced. I've been there too - I guess most guys have. About that time the phone rang and as I picked up the telephone I glanced at the Bell South phone book. Of course it used to be Southern Bell years ago. The song just came together in about 10 minutes.
Lyrics
Southern Belle c.2002 Brad Butner Well I knew I was in trouble when she stopped me on the double at the Palamino Club that night She was looking like a cross between Shania and a beauty queen under that neon light I said “Girl I just can’t see why you would even look at me but I don’t care exactly why” So I took her hand, led her to a little corner table, and I bought us a drink on ice CHORUS And she’s a honky-tonking, sexy walking, line dancing, trash talking, pretty little southern belle She can rope a steer, chug a beer, shake her little Wrangler rear and let out a rebel yell We’ve been heavy into romance ever since that first glance, I’m keeping her for myself Cause she’s a honky-tonkin, sexy walking, line dancing, trash talking, pretty little southern belle Well we danced on ‘til 2:00 and then out in the parking lot I knew that I was Heaven bound She was acting like she wanted more than I had ever done before, this country girl was going to town I said, “Girl you’re so exciting I don’t know where you’ve been hiding but consider your sweet self found.” She said, “I’ve met my Rhett Butler and your Scarlett O’Hara will never, ever turn you down CHORUS Well it’s hard to find that special one just once in your life So I married that Southern Belle after we met that night CHORUS Pretty little southern belle Pretty little southern belle
