Story behind the song
“O Mama Mary” started out as a simple prayer. My wife and I were mentoring an engaged couple at the time and I ran across a prayer that Christopher West (from Theology of the Body) had written. I was immediately inspired to modify the wording to include the reference to Mary, Undoer of Knots and to make it more specific to engaged/married couples. We offered it to our current engaged couple to pray each night before sleep and even suggested they give it to their parents to pray for them. Over the months that followed, I also shared it occasionally with couples who might use it. Please feel free to use it in your own marriage.
