cowboy rodeo
Artist picture
I have been writing from the time I could play my guitar at 12 years old, I'm 72 now and for the last few years I've been writing Christian music.
I'm a good ole boy from Georgia. In the early 70's I started a cover band, The Re-Creation. We played local gigs for several years. We all started having families and other jobs paid a lot more, so we gave up on music. I've dabbled in song writing over the years. I've been a Christian for a long time but, and as I've gotten older, I feel I have a calling from God to write Christian music. There are enough of my old lady done left with my dog songs. I'm sharing the good news of Jesus and His plan for salvation to an increasingly damaged world. My hash tag is #JesusLovesYou The love of Jesus comes before everything else.

Lyrics
Cowboy Sunset (Long road to Dallas) 2012 By Donnie Priest She left for the city of Dallas He stayed in San Antone Her dream was lots of money His was the freedom to roam She found hers in a rich husband He found his in the rodeo Both of them wound up lonely It seems so long ago She loves the sparkle of her diamonds He loves the shimmer of a steam She likes her expensive fragrance He likes the smell of the morning rain They both try to be so happy They both miss each other so They wonder what they gave away They may never know (Chorus) The days seem forever The nights get so long How did things get so wrong? The sun sets in Dallas The sun sets in San Antone They're watching the cowboy sunset sitting all alone He thinks of her in the city She dreams of him on the trail He wonders of what might have been She has thoughts she can never tell She found she turned her back on love He knows he let her slip away Will they go down that road? Say what they need to say (Chorus) The days seem forever The nights get so long How did things get so wrong? The sun sets in Dallas The sun sets in San Antone They're watching the cowboy sunset sitting all alone (Bridge) Missing her burns him like fire Life with him is her burning desire They're both dreaming of the day They put their pride away But they're watch the cowboy sunset sitting all alone (outro) The days seem forever The nights get so long How did things get so wrong? The sun sets in Dallas The sun sets in San Antone They're watching the cowboy sunset sitting all alone Watching the cowboy sunset sitting all alone
