Story behind the song
Just came out one cold winter day.
Lyrics
Walkin' When It's Really Bitter Cold Sleigh bells ring, I'm not listenin', It's so cold my skin is blisterin' A terrible sight, Not to happy tonight, Walkin' when it's really very cold. Gone away are the Snowbirds, here to stay is this slow bird Who can't feel his toes,or the tip of his nose. Walkin' when it's really bitter cold. In the meadow I can see a snowman, I believe I'll go and knock it down. There's a hat and scarf on that old snowman and I'm a mile away from my home town. Later on I'll perspire, sittin' close to the fire To thaw out my face , and every other place after walking when it's really bitter cold. INSTRUMENTAL In that meadow came across that snowman, if he could I'm sure that he would frown. Also took the mittens off that snowman, as a blast of winter wind came roarin' down. When it snows, it ain't that thrillin', When you can't see what is hidden' Hit an icy pass you end up on your.... Walkin' when it's really bitter cold.
