Story behind the song

There is a final song in the Heidi chronicles and that song is called I'm Alive. We had been apart for a while, at least six months, and I stopped into a place where I found out she was working. The small talk was just that small and when I came back as her shift was over, she ran past me into the arms of another guy. I can't blame her, we were over, and I don't know if I missed her or was just hunting for the comfort of an old memory. Regardless, out of that episode, came I'm Alive. This song is a rock tune what follows the idea that I am alive and doing quite well without you. I didn't feel exactly like I wrote in the song, but in retrospect, it did serve to cap off the relationship and forced me to move into another direction romantically.
