This is a 'stand alone', piece, but is included here as a bonus track on the Fjordland album... An experimental piece inspired by a recent story of an unknown submarine spotted in the coastal waters just off Stockholm in 2014.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
This was quite a big news item on Scandanavian news channels at the time. Although Sweden is well known to be a neutral country, it won't let itself be walked over by it's neighbour to the East ! ...Sweden closed off waters and airspace off Stockholm last night as they widen the hunt for a mystery vessel suspected to be a Russian submarine. It follows confirmation that the military has made three sightings - two on Friday, and one on Sunday - of foreign undersea activity - during their now, four day hunt. The public was warned to keep a safe distance of at least six miles from the search operation despite Moscows denials that any of its forces were involved.

Very cool tune - tells the story very neatly without words. Inspired use of found sounds, effects and experimental noises combined with very nice guitar riffs. The whole piece works so well together (love the submarine creakings) creating a very visual effect. Really good tune!

One of the most creative/original entry of the challenge, what an interesting subject to be expressed through music!! Congratulation for this wonderful idea! Many many little music details here, a pleasure to listen to all those hidden/melt/faded/starting and stopping sounds.... I had a big smile on my face listening to David..... great guitar lead starting at about 4:13 "Outstandig" phrasing and skills, superb! Hat off to you for this creative composition!!
So many little details to capture the imagination, but with plenty of space to absorb it all. A very cinematic piece, a little movie for your mind. Cheers!

Very dramatic and with true swedish radio voices! The whole thing is dramatic and telling a story of people being alert and afraid: Is this World War 3 or just Putin's boys playing with us? We may never know, but the insisting sonar does everything it can to reveil where that submarine thing is trying to hide. A lot of work went into this and you did it so well!

Very creative piece of music David...I love the atmosphere - kind of dark in places, a little threatening, a bit tense, very mysterious....it completely had me hooked! Brilliant use of voices and sound effects - excellent concept. One of your finest creations!
