Lyrics
THE NEW YEAR’S PRAYER (A Servant’s Heart) - dedicated to Pete Kusko, by B.J. Collins, January 5, 2015 Give me the heart of a servant, I want a servant’s heart. Make me a workman approved unto God, inspire me to do my part. Give me the love of a shepherd, guiding the flock to You. Give me a heart for the lost in this world, to tirelessly share Your truth. Give me the ears of a prophet, I want a prophet’s ears. Make me a watchman with eyes on the world, to warn them when danger’s near. Give me the strength of a soldier, I want a soldier’s strength. Make me a warrior for Your holy cause, to fight to the battle’s end. I am no longer my own. Send me to do Your will. I am no longer my own. Use me for what You will. I am no longer my own. Father please set me apart. I am no longer my own. Give me a servant’s heart. Give me the light of the Spirit, I want the Spirit’s light. Help me to see who You want me to be, and guide me until I’m right. Make me a man after Your heart, I want to be that man. Direct my steps where you want me to be, to do everything I can I am no longer my own. Send me to do Your will. I am no longer my own. Use me for what You will. I am no longer my own. Father please set me apart. I am no longer my own. Give me a servant’s heart. For you I’ll be your servant. For you I’ll be your workman. For you I’ll be your shepherd. For you I’ll be your prophet. For you I’ll be your watchman. For you I’ll be your soldier. For you I’ll be your warrior. For you I’ll be the man you want me to be.
