The Black Dog was Winston Churchill's phrase for his bouts of depression. A lot of my friends wrestle with this as do I. Mine isn't nearly as bad as a lot of folks. This is part of my effort to fight back.
Lyrics
There's a black dog in my mind
Darkens my days, wastin' my time
Tearin' me up, 'causing me pain
This damn black dog in my brain
Black dog hunts me every day it seems
Black dog haunts me in my dreams
Black dog snarls and black dog bites
Black dog stay outta my sight
Chorus:
I'm living on borrowed time
Can't keep the black dog outta my mind
Some day I'm gonna hunt the black dog down
Shoot him in the head put him underground
Black dog seems to know my scent
Black dog's tracked me every place I ever went
Black dog howls in the middle of the night
Black dog wakes me in a sweat soaked fright
Black dog loves howlin' at the moon
Black dog you've come back too soon
Black dog get away from my door
Black dog never welcome no more
Chorus
Black dog, black dog, black dog
