His Calling Lyrics by Paul Dempsey (v1) Stench of garage was overwhelming As he lie on his back in the rain He had finally hit rock bottom With a life of alcohol and cocaine Couldn’t remember where he’d been Or how he ended up in this place And the rain kept pouring down Mixing with the blood all over his face (chorus 1) Then he heard the sound of thunder And felt the ground begin to shake Got on his knees and started crawling This was no mistake It was his sign, it was his calling (v2) His life was going to be different He swore it would all change He did another stint in rehab With the all shakes and the pain When he hit the streets again He went back to his old ways He found he couldn’t escape He preferred his life in a haze (bridge) They found him dead in an alley, lying face down It was a stormy night and the rain was pouring down …..
