Story behind the song
History is distorted in America and we are just pointing out simple truths.
Lyrics
(Verse 1 Larry Coleman) How unfortunate to grow up in a tragedy I’d tell you all how real it is but then you’d all be mad at me We built ourselves on slavery, palaces and majesty’s A place of opportunity; how quickly it is vanishing Why would I sit back watch and wait so quietly When every day I walk past the same folks depriving me Shit I’m hungry too nobody’s choosing to be dieting They’re luck I make music instead of acting out violently (Verse 3 Larry Coleman) I’m living in the dumbest smartest nation that there ever was I’m working fifty hours + and still I’m chasing ass in clubs You’re under pressure, under pain and act like you don’t notice it Popping bottles rolling blunts with nothing left to show for it How many kids in public schools know what a chauffeur is? Anyone can be the king, I tell the kids to go for it If I can do it so can you, no excuses no retreat We’re champions of poverty and we accept no defeat
