No claims of being a performer. I just give it what little I've taught myself musically by songwriting. Recorded by mic, straight to computer as sound on sound.
Born at an early age, I was just a kid at the time....from there memory escapes me, until 2000 or 2001 when I decided to teach myself guitar. In order to teach myself guitar, I took to writing songs. From there, I added bass and occasionally, harmonica and a small touch of electric guitar. Not much of a performer, but I love to experiment writing songs. So, it's nine or ten years into it so far....and I've only scratched the surface with tons to learn. Maybe, you'll find something you like on the nearly three pages, I've loaded so far....Comments are welcome, I don't expect all comments to be favorable, but objectively constructive. I make no claims of being a performer....I just give it my best with what little that I've taught myself both musically and in songwriting. All songs are either written, played and sang by myself or my attempt at covering a song by my favorite artists.

Story behind the song
Long story short (previously, accidentally erased)...Jackie Gleason was a comic and dramatic genius. I had been thinking of him due to something that I'd read or saw on cable and this tune came to me in regards of his "Poor Soul" character, a character in mime. I believe Gleason must have been profoundly influenced by the silent era of film, as the Poor Soul, he could exude and provoke emotion with this silent character whether the other characters would talk or not, no matter the scene situation. Gleason could pull laughter, tears or laughter and tears out of a scene at the same time, a devout talent! The earliest date that I could find is from one of several hard drive recoveries of this tune, February of 2008. I believe that date to be of another recovery. Memory fails me, but I believe this to be further back during my first membership with Sound Click. Anyway, I played this on a Martin Acoustic Electric (long since given away to one of my nephews) and recorded it on the computer, straight from the jack. I didn't add bass or any other instrument. It's a melody that was inspired by Gleason's "The Poor Soul" character, dancing the "Old Soft Shoe".....so, it will be a boring tune to many ears......but my tribute to Jackie Gleason, "In The Meantime".....

Wade, Bravo! Minor chords with major emotion! Fantastic fret work on that Martin. How nice to just plug in and play. Always was a big fan of the "Honey mooners" but did not know this about Gleason. Great story with a song that delivers the mail. So glad you were able to recover this and bring it back to life for everyone to enjoy. We need a encore!
