Story behind the song
For those who feel they may be down to their last shot -- make it a good one!
Lyrics
LAST SHOT CITY Oh, so slender is the night! Chunk of charcoal for the moon. There’s nothing left that feels right. Time for me to change my tune. Shards of champagne glasses strewn As far as the eye can see. You ask me how I’m doin’ Just to test my memory. I’m goin’ down to Last Shot City I’ve got Last Shot City on my mind. I’m goin’ down to Last Shot City. I’ve got fast, hot Kitty on the line. Misery loves company, So I’m really not alone. The shadow shapes around me Shoot up from the seeds I’ve sown. One thing that the past has shown Is that I have been a fool. I’ve lit out for parts unknown – Up to my forehead in wool. I’m goin’ down to Last Shot City I’ve got Last Shot City on my mind. I’m goin’ down to Last Shot City. I’ve got fast, hot Kitty on the line. Gonna ease my way out of here; Then I’m gonna spread my wings. Cast aside my doubts and fears, And face what tomorrow brings. I’m goin’ down to Last Shot City I’ve got Last Shot City on my mind. I’m goin’ down to Last Shot City. I’ve got fast, hot Kitty on the line. I’m leavin’ my past not pretty – Leavin’ it fast and far behind. Copyright © 2013 Lex Zaleta
